My name is Mrs Cable and I am the head of year S4 for this year. I have been their year head all through the secondary department and so pupils and I know each other very well. My role is to support them whenever I can over work or in any other issues that may be causing them worry or concern.
Obviously S4 is a very important year for Standard Grade and Higher Still courses with many deadlines for coursework that have to be met throughout the year along with prelims in December and final exams in May. The results in these exams then impact on future course options either in Kirkwall Grammar School or Orkney College and apprenticeship places.
All of the staff at school will help pupils through this important year as much as possible but it is also a time when pupils need to consistently work hard to fulfil their potential to enable them to follow their chosen route in the future.
I really enjoy supporting and working with all my year group and wish them every success this year and in the future.
